The COVID-19 virus is spreading all over the world. In South Korea, the total number of confirmed cases is around 7,800 (3/11/20). 6,462 confirmed cases (87.5%) were reported in Daegu and North Gyeong-sang Province. Everyday, the number of confirmed cases is increasing rapidly. Buildings with confirmed cases are closed. A-PAD Korea is providing meals for children at children's centers around Daegu as almost all the restaurants in Daegu are closed. Help South Korea!
Around 5,200 children across 199 local children's centers are facing great difficulty. Public institutions can supply only 3 disposable masks and 1 hand sanitizer at each center. Each chidren's center provides 1 meal coupon per child per day. However, 1 meal coupon is not enough, especially for children without parents at home. As almost all restaurants in Daegu are closed due to the virus, food is hard to come by.
A-PAD Korea and local restaurant owners are providing meals for children at children's centers around Daegu. We are planning to contribute to community economic activities by ordering meals for children at local restaurants.
In our fight with the COVID-19 virus, we are preparing meals for children who depend on the children's centers for provisions. Additionally, we will take the lessons learned from this disaster to prepare for future disasters.
