I. GENERAL INFORMATION
At the end of April 2020, Ford VN’s employees have completed their donation process. The total amount that has been donated is 297,326,000 VND.
Live & Learn VN has also received the corresponding grant of $12,585 USD awarded by GlobalGiving, in partnership with Ford Motor Company Fund.
The program has been implemented in 3 different cities and provinces of Viet Nam, namely Ha Noi, Ha Giang and Ho Chi Minh city, providing aid for thousands of people.
The program’s timetable is as such:

II. HA NOI
1. Blind Practitioners and Teachers
Address: The Vietnam Blind Association, no 217 Trung Kinh street, Cau Giay district, Ha Noi.
80 visually impaired teachers and students, who come from many different provinces, are teaching and studying acupuncture at the Rehabilitation Training Center for the Blind. According to the training program, they will stay at the center and will be supported only lunch and dinner (12,000 VND per student per meal), and they will have to take care of their own breakfast. However, due to the nation-wide social distancing, they cannot go home or go out for breakfast. The program provided 80 people with:
• 15,000 VND per person per breakfast
• Food: instant noodles and milk, and
• Face masks (2 masks/ person)
The budget for supporting the students and teachers at the Training Center for the Blind is 43,360,000 VND.
2. Needy Households in Hoan Kiem district
There are 120 households of Hoan Kiem district who strive to survive with low to no income. Especially, due to the national social distancing, their lives were severely affected as there is no way for them to make a living. The program helped these households by providing per household with:
• Food: rice (a 5-kilogram pack) and oil (a 2-liter can)
• One 100,000 VND gift card at the supermarket
• Face masks (10 masks)
The budget for supporting needy households in Hoan Kiem district is 45,528,000 VND.
In total, the budget for COVID response in Ha Noi is 88,888,000 VND.
III. HO CHI MINH CITY
1. Rice ATMs
In Ho Chi Minh city, there are rice ATMs that help distribute free rice to the needy people. The program contributed to this meaningful activity by donating 4 tons of rice to 6 ATM machines in the city. To facilitate the donation, Ford VN sent cars to pick up the rice from the dealer and delivered to each ATM machine.
The budget for donating to the rice ATMs is 68,544,000 VND.
2. Needy university students
During the national lock down, a number of needy university students who could not go back to their hometown have been suffering from shortage of food and necessities. The program supported 150 students of Ho Chi Minh University of Technology by providing them with:
• 2250 meals
• A 100,000 VND data SIM card (for each students)
The budget for supporting 150 needy students is 69,450,000 VND.
In total, the budget for COVID response in Ho Chi Minh city is 137,994,000 VND.
IV. HA GIANG
Ha Giang is a poor rural province located in the northernmost of Vietnam. Especially, in the past months, the ethinic people in Meo Vac district (Ha Giang) were severely affected not only by the COVID 19 pandemic but also by constant storms. An emergency support plan was devised in response to the situation:
1. COVID virus checkpoints
The Government has set up some virus checkpoints in the province of Ha Giang to screen for fevers. The program contributed to this effort of battling against the pandemic by the Government by providing:
• 60,000,000 VND in cash to help build 3 checkpoints
• Protective suits and facemasks
• Hand sanitizers
The budget for supporting virus checkpoints is 75,826,400VND.
2. Needy households
The program gifted 140 needy households in Meo Vac district with food and necessities (i.e rice, cooking oil, salt) with hope that the supply can help them overcome the period of difficulties:
The budget for helping needy households is 60,435,000 VND
3. Households that were affected by the storm
There are 10 houses in Meo Vac that were severely affected by the storm, and the program supported each household with 2,000,000 VND in cash.
The budget for helping these affected households is 20,000,000 VND.
In total, the budget for COVID response in Ha Giang province is 156,261,400 VND
