Help us ensure that we have all the resources to support 240 children and adults with disabilities in 2022. We've had a tough time but thanks to support such as yours, we've weathered the storm over the last 18 months. In these uncertain times, you can help us continue to keep everyone at Prithipura Communities happy, safe and well.
Since March 2020, we have faced decreased and fluctuating donations from our usual sources, such as donations for food. Sri Lanka has had frequent and strict lockdowns, the last of which came to an end in October 2021. All those over 18 who live at Prithipura Communities have been vaccinated. However, there remain many vulnerable children who are currently unvaccinated. As such, we remain closed to visitors. Visitor donations were a significant source of donations prior to the pandemic.
Throughout the pandemic, all branches of Prithipura Communities have remained closed to visitors in order to protect the vulnerable people who live with us. Many would be at high risk of severe symptoms of COVID-19 due to pre-existing health conditions. The health and well-being of those who live with us remains our highest priority. If essential costs are supported, we can continue to ensure that those with disabilities who live with us receive excellent care and good nutrition.
We have weathered the storm so far and ensured that we have enough resources to care for and protect the children and adults with disabilities who live with us. With secure funding for 2022, we can continue this work ensuring that those who live with us continue to have the best opportunities for growth and development.
