Challenge

The Peruvian government declared a national state of emergency on March 15, 2020. Under the state of emergency, Peru enacted 15 days of mandatory quarantine, March 16, 2020. Then closed all international borders (land, air, and maritime) and suspended all interprovincial travel within Peru (land, air, and river) in an effort to contain the COVID- 19 outbreak which is growing rapidly.

Solution

VIDA USA is immediately shipping 2 containers loaded with donated medical supplies and equipment by sea. Fortunately our typical year round support has two shipments arriving in the Callao port shortly. Plus we will continue to ship long term.

Long-Term Impact

We are in place in Peru - 90 clinics - over 30 years - we are well suited to be effective now and for another 30 years.
