Project Report (April 2021)
By Olusola Ojo - Project Leader
I present here with our project report for April 2021 on COVID-19 Palliative for 1200 households in Nigeria.
We considered feedback to be very germane to our wonderful donors and would like to provide the following feedback. First and foremost, however, we would like to appreciate all our donors for their awesome support.
We executed the first phase of our project in April 2020. We had planned to carry out the second phase in March 2021 with the little funds ($5,332 out of total project funds of $48,000) we raised by December 2020. We also expected our fund-raising efforts from Jan to Mar 2021 to yield more fruitful results than we achieved. Higher inflation rate also impacted our initial budget estimates for this project.
Due to paucity of fund and high inflation rate, we will continue our fund-raising efforts until June while we hope for a better result. Despite all these constraints, we have scheduled to execute the second phase of our project between August and October 2021. To meet our new deadline, we have put appropriate administrative procedure and logistics plan in place to review our funds-raising efforts on a month-by-month basis, monitor the inflations rate and adjust the second phase to available fund.
We continue to monitor the progress of Mrs Khadijat, a physically challenged woman that benefited from our cash assistance for business support in August 2020. We are very happy to report her impressive performance in her petty trading.
We recently shipped five full-wardrobe boxes containing clothing materials and medical supplies to Nigeria. The boxes are currently in transit and are meant for distribution to the rural areas in Nigeria in a manner that it will cushion their hardship due to COVID-19 and also improve the quality of their lives.
We have a lot of projects for execution but for funds constraint and we will carry them out in phases based on funds availability:
1. Continuation of COVID 19 palliative (phase 2)
2. Provision of potable drinking water for our rural communities
3. Youth empowerment project
4. Women empowerment campaign
5. Provision of renewable energy for rural dwellers
6. Enlightenment on substance abuse
7. Campaign in favor of 'Speak Up" culture
