As the coronavirus continues to spread, its devastating effects are being felt around the world including in our community in rural Nicaragua. Waves of Hope, is excited to be teaming up with our friends at Rise Up Kids with the common goal of making sure that people are nourished and looked after during this challenging time. Together we share the common goal of making sure that families have access to food, clean water, healthcare, emergency supplies and other essential items.
As the coronavirus continues to spread, its devastating effects are being felt around the world. Some regions have been particularly hard hit, especially in developing countries and low-income communities. Recent shutdowns are having a severely negative impact on many communities in Nicaragua, many of which are still recovering from economic hardship caused by political unrest during the summer of 2018.
Our nonprofit organization, Waves of Hope, is excited to be teaming up with our friends at Rise Up Kids with the common goal of making sure that people are nourished and looked after during this challenging time. Our goal is to provide the basic necessities to as many families as possible in the communities of Northern Nicaragua. Together we share the common goal of making sure that families have access to food, clean water, healthcare, emergency supplies and other essential items.
With the tourism industry at a standstill unemployment levels have skyrocketed locally and families are struggling. Our goal is to provide this support long enough to ensure families have enough food and the basic essentials to maintain their health. This program will only be required until the pandemic has passed and tourism and employment returns.
