The effects of COVID-19 epidemic to the people of Uganda, the majority leaving in abject poverty, with the severe weakness of the health infrastructure and the poor medical services, the epidemic is spreading among in Uganda rapidly, due to the limited PCR tests, with a government lacking adequate resources to provide relief assistance to its people. This project aims to provide aid and assistance to poor families to confront the spread of the pandemic.
The epidemic spread in Uganda by two waves until Jun 2021 there is an increase in cases on a daily basis. People cannot get tools and resources to prevent the spread of the epidemic, and medical services are weak and cannot effectively manage an epidemic. The closure of business is already affecting millions of Uganda's who depend on them for employment. The informal economy alone employs 84.9 percent of the population, 90% of whom are women there is rampant food insecurity in the country.
This project aims to provide aid and assistance to poor families to confront the spread of the epidemic by providing them with the necessary health equipment and tools to limit the spread of the epidemic, in addition to raising awareness of ways to prevent the epidemic.
This project will contribute to limiting the spread of the epidemic among poor families until the vaccine is available and accessible to all Ugandans.
