This project will establish a permanent volunteers based health education, counselling and legal support center with a toll free number to provide free healthcare education, legal and psycho social support to 200 teen parents and their babies.
Rwanda has experienced a rise in teenage pregnancy; more than 17000 young girls aged 14-19 years got pregnant in 2015-2016. In each case, a variety of complex socioeconomic factors are involved including poverty, communities, families, culture, sexual violence and lack of information. And those victims are then stigmatized and rejected. The risk of being more abused and exploited is then high. This project will provide psycho-social, educational and legal support to 200 teen mothers.
This project will provide free counseling, parenting and early childhood development support, sexual and reproductive health & rights education, legal aid to 200 teen mothers in Kigali city.
This project will provide a safe space for teen mothers to receive counseling and get free legal advises helping them to achieve their self-esteem thus allowing them to raise their children in dignity and values.
