Thank you friends for supporting our initiatives during Covid19 1st and 2nd waves. Through your contributions, we ha ve been able to alleviate the suffering of many people - migrant workers, daily wage laborers, handicraft artisans etc who were deprived of livelihood because of the lockdown and subsequent conditions.
We would like to share the journey of one of our beneficiary students who was hospitalized and fortunately recovered after battling with Covid19 for more than 10 days in a hospital.
R lost his parents early in his childhood and has been studying with the support of Sphoorti Foundation. In July 2021, he contracted Covid19 during the second wave. His vitals were not good and had to be rushed to a hospital which was admitting Covid19 patients.
He had a tough time breathing for more than a week but he showed amazing courage and grit in fighting the infection. We used more than $1200 raised through GlobalGiving for his treatment and another $500 to purchase an Oxygen Concentrator for subsequent recovery.
As soon as he recovered from Covid19 completely, R was helping Sphoorti in identifying need for Concentrators across Hyderabad and putting in circulation 12 Concetrators we had around that time given by a Foundation. He used to physically visit the patients and note their requirement. He played an important role in rapid recovery of at leaast 15 patients.
Your support not only saved a life but also provided inspiration to help people in dire need.
