CURRENT SITUATION U.S.

  • Over the weekend, World Vision distributed 200 more Family Emergency Kits in the Greater Seattle area, for a total of 500 kits distributed. This brings our beneficiary count up to 2,500 vulnerable children and individuals.
  • This week, we will distribute an additional 500 Kits in the Greater Seattle Area,
  • Two distributions of 100 kits each will be held in Chicago using the same drive-through model that has been successful in Seattle,
  • Two distributions of 100 kits each will be held in New York using our partner network.
  • We will continue to scale up our $10 million response in the US targeting 690,000 vulnerable individuals across 11 states and 13 strategic locations.
  • We have distributed PPE, disinfectant wipes, and other cleaning supplies to local hospitals in Dallas, Greater Seattle, parts of Florida, and in the Central Valley of California.

CURRENT SITUATION INTERNATIONALLY

  • World Vision is responding to COVID-19 in every country that we work in, in one form or another. Our response to the most vulnerable is centered on 17 countries, where we are focused on:
    • Promoting preventive measures to stop or slow the spread of COVID-19
    • Supporting health systems and workers
    • Supporting children made vulnerable by COVID-19
  • See the attachment below for an overview of our global response.

PREVIOUS UPDATES

  • Our focus is on distributing Family Emergency Kits containing enough food to feed a family of 5 for a week, plus items like hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes, toilet paper and paper towels, and school supplies.
  • Distribution occurs through a network of local partners. Local school districts identify families in need, who are then connected with our partners to receive Family Emergency Kits.
  • Child Friendly Space programming is being prepared, with livestream video featuring child-focused content to help children deal with stress and trauma.
  • Hospital systems in three states have been provided with personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Safety procedures are in place to protect staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries at distribution points.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!
