Distributing cloth masks to bike riders
Dear project supporters,
Transportation service providers like taxi drivers and motorcycle taxis (Okadas) provide a valuable service – transporting hundreds of people each day. Each bike rider interacts with and is in close quarters with tens of people each day.
Because they are in close proximity to people every day, they and their passengers and are at risk of getting infected with or spreading the coronavirus.
In order to help reduce the risk of transmission through public transportation, Develop Africa on the 8th June 2020 distributed 1000 face masks to bike riders in the Lumley and Goderich communities in Freetown.
From the mask distribution photos and video, you can vividly see that most of the bike riders did not have on face masks. They were very thankful to Develop Africa for this kind gesture noting that the donation was timely.
Must-See Video: The video of the distribution of the masks aired on SLBC TV - public broadcasting TV on Monday, June 8th, 2020.
The beneficiaries were very grateful to receive the masks and expressed their deep appreciation.
Your support helped make this possible.
Thank you for helping to meet this important practical need. Together we are helping to save lives and stop the spread of COVID-19 / coronavirus.
With deep appreciation,
Sylvester and the Develop Africa Team
