CORE worked with the local government in the hard-hit town of Samburg, Tenn., to fill gaps in debris removal. The crisis response organization is organizing and mobilizing volunteers from the Mayor’s Officeto remove small debris that cannot be cleared by heavy equipment.
CORE’s team is also coordinated with local government in Dawson Springs, Ky., to assist in debris removal activities.
On December 21, CORE led a group of 50 volunteers and cleared out debris at four plots of land in Samburg.
CORE will remain in contact with the local government in Samburg, Dawson Springs, and neighboring communities to identify needs for long-term recovery efforts.
