Alpha has a partnership with the public school “Matarazzo”, where it improves tests and conducts research with students in order to understand how we can improve the approach with young people and adapt, when necessary, to a language that is part of everyday life and the community .
Our partnership was recently formalized and celebrated with a plaque installed at the school, in reference to the work carried out together.
Remembering the purpose of the project:
Goals:
Develop and validate methods for tracking symptoms and depressive tendencies in adolescents in the form of a serious, digital and scientific game, applicable in the school environment.
This project proposes to act on two fronts:
Study and map the mental health of students.
Support guidance to participating public schools regarding prevention and coping with socio-emotional and mental demands frequently present in students' lives.
In addition, it intends to discuss care and interventions in situations of imminent risk/emergency, such as suicide prevention.
Specific objectives:
• Check the internal consistency of the digital version of the tests for adolescents.
• Perform what-if analysis.
• Determine the test reliability of the digital version for teens.
• Develop and validate a method for tracking depressive tendencies in adolescents based on the choice of preferred images.
• Validate computerized methods of cognitive assessment to screen for depressive conditions in adolescents.
Respecting the norms agreed with the research university that evaluates the entire project, the data of the participants, the digital tests and those carried out on paper, signed by those in charge and by the students, are mandatorily confidential, together with all the development data of the works linked to the project are under total secrecy, under the custody and responsibility of Instituto Alpha Lumen.
In the future, with the improvement of the test, we intend for the project to be applied in other schools in the region, expanding our action in the community and helping a much larger number of young people
