Why we are advocating for girl-Friendly toilet

By Somto Nnolim | Project Leader

At this moment, we yet to receive donations to start building girls friendly toilet blocks in the schools in needs.

At Helpers Social Development Foundation, we believe that every girls in Nigeria deserves a safe, clean, and private space to manage her hygiene at school. Unfortunately, many schools in Nigeria lack girl-friendly toilets, forcing young girls to miss classes or drop out entirely due to poor sanitation and menstrual hygiene challenges.

The Challenges Girls Face Without Proper Toilets

Lack of Clean Water & Sanitation

  • Many schools have no separate toilets for girls, leaving them without privacy or access to clean facilities.
  • Without running water and soap, girls struggle to manage their hygiene properly.

How We Are Making a Difference

Helpers Social Development Foundation is actively:
Providing menstrual hygiene education and free sanitary pads to girls.
Advocating for gender-sensitive school infrastructure at local, state, and national levels.
Partnering with organizations & donors to expand access to clean water and sanitation.

How You Can Help

Your donation can help us:
Build separate, hygienic toilets for girls in schools.
Provide menstrual hygiene education and sanitary kits.
Ensure every girl in Nigeria stays in school and thrives.

Let’s create a future where no girl misses school because of poor sanitation!
