Media reported that in Pwani especially Kisarawe district 191 girls were teenage pregnacies in 2020 due to the fact that 59.5 % girls come from families experiencing monetary poverty, 90.3% of girls drop out of school due to truancy. The construction of community resource centre and hall will be usefull to community for skills development programmes offered with the ongoing access to knowledge and training that have impact on educational for economic growth.

Challenge

1. Women and girls in rural Tanzania face significant challenges in education and economic empowerment that lead to forced marriage, teenage pregnacies. 2. The education structure in place favours for the passed girls who drop school but for the girls who failed to join secondary school for government support but for failure ones remain home resulted to violance actions. 3. The absence of educational infrastructure eg. libraries and community centres in rural areas hampers access to information

Solution

1. The centre will be saved as a space for civic engagement where the community can learn about their rights and responsibilities that will encourage them to participate local decision making processes. 2. The centre will direct benefit women and girls through designed programs such as training on sexual and reproductive health, self defence against gender based violence, counselling and legal aid for women and girls who experience violence and discrimination. 3. The hall for community dialogue

Long-Term Impact

The construction of a community resource centre and hall in Mzengq ward will have a lasting impact on the community by addressing systematic issues of gender inequality, social accountability, governance, education and civic engagement its long-term impact will be evident in the empowerment of a marginalised groups improved governance practices and enhanced educational and economic opportunities. More than 100000 of community members will be benefiting with resource centre.
