This project is geared towards meeting the urgent educational need in Sierra Leone. WCC believe that the learning experience of the children will necessitate the provision of the complete health infrastructure. We aim to improve the quality of life of the children and young people of Sierra Leone by providing various educational opportunities to advance their economic prospects.
The project is going to intervene with the following activities:
Construction of the WCC Academy Building
Construct a new school buildingwhich contains classrooms, a kitchen, toilet and bathrooms facilities using locally sourced sand, cement and workers
Provide primary education to 1,000 orphans and homeless children aged 5-25 years old
Equip the school with educational resources such as books and stationary as well as tables, chairs and a blackboard to aid effective learning etc
Build an adjacent healthcare centerwhich is easily accessible to each of the community’s 20,500 inhabitants. This will be funded through future endeavors and contributors
To offer extracurricular activities such as sporting activities and field trips.
World Changing Centre is currently sponsoring a network of children’s reading book clubs run in schools in Sierra Leone to encourage reading for pleasure. WCC book clubs are run by teachers, and volunteers – people who are passionate about reading and impacting children’s lives in the Community. We also work with targeted groups, to engage and sustain reading recovery, with talented children to support a transition from Nursery school to Primary school.Reading for pleasure is more important to children’s successes than education or social class. WCC Book Clubs helps gets a high number of children/young people in Sierra Leone into books to keep up their reading skills and confidence during the long holidays and breaks. Childrens’ reading groups help build and sustain a lifelong reading habit. Everything changes when we read."You, the donor, made this happen! and thanks for being part of our possibilities.
