As an organization, WCC supports research on child poverty and education in Africa. Intuitively, the main means of escaping poverty is education, taken in its broadest sense (formal and informal schooling, skills training and knowledge acquisition). WCC aims to give the children and young people in Sierra Leone a health service fit for the 21st century. This exists partly as an advisory service with plans to improve the capability in the near future.
WCC academy seeks to increase enrolments in primary schools and reduce in the number of school drop outs to improve educational attainment in core subjects. WCC spreads greater awareness of disease prevention and control to reduce mortality rates of disadvantaged people in Sierra Leone. Our goals include: -
The implementation of the Life Safe, Play Safe module, with HIV/AIDS prevention focuses in Coach and Community Sensitization. This will include Community sensitization, health education, and adult education programs on disease prevention. The use of sports and other activities will enhance healthy child development, foster individual talents and strengthen community partnerships.
In order to meet the above objectives, Kamaray FAMILY donated 4 acres of land situate, lying and being at Maboikandoh Village, Newton, Ward C aforesaid to WCC and shall execute a deed of conveyance in favour of WCC when required to do so; WCC shall construct a primary school, health care centre for mothers and babies, football pitch, staff quarters and resource centres on the said land.Upon execution of this MoU which we have completed, WCC has also survey the said land and the Kamaray Family through Madam Rita Kamaray who is in the porcess of executing the conveyance in favour of WCC.The building projects will start in September 2019.
