REPORT TITLE: LET US CONSERVE THE NATIONAL BIRD PEACOCK
PROJECT TITLE: CONSERVATION OF NATIONAL BIRD, INDIA

An Awareness programme with the Name of “Let us conserve our National Bird Peacock” was held at panchayat union primary school at Thuppaspatti village,Keelarasdi panchayat in Ottappidaram Panchayat union, Thoothukudi District on 21.04.2016. In this programme. Programme co ordinator Chevalier Roche Society deliver “All livings organisms have right to live in this world. Our Govt. has formed many laws to protect men. If two persons attack each and a Peron kills his enemy, there is a law to punish him. In that manner Govt. has controlled the people by its law. Likewise the Govt. has made “Wild life protection Act” during the year 1972. Being not observed that law some are doing evil to the forest animals. Hence the Peacock species of forest area is destroyed gradually. It is the every one of our duty to conserve the species of National bird Peacock. If we perform this project to school children it will work effectively for this purpose we must form a conservation committee of 10 children of which 5 shall be male and 5 shall be female. If we do so the peacock hunting will be decreased. If any person hunts the peacock, according to the forest Annual conservation Act he will be punished with 3-10 years imprisonment. In addition to this the peacock hunter shell bay a penalty of Rs.10, 000 to 25, 000. The students must inform this to his / her family members, relation and friends. If a peacock found injured or in the condition of meeting an accident the student must inform this condition to the village panchayat president and to forest officials through their headmasters of the school. If the students do forest officials come to the spot of accident happened, view the bird, provide the First Aid treatment and will arrange the bird to carry to the forest animal hospital and offer the treatment safely arrange the bird to live in the forest again. Mostly birds and animals in the forest live only there itself. But reason for their arrival into town areas is the in availability of food and water in their living areas (forest). That is why they come towards the domestic areas. In such occasions we shall not hurt the peacock. We may do some helps to them. We shall not chase these birds. Instead of that we can provide the food by supplying grains. We must have love upon them. We can keep water in the vessels for them to drink. We may do some safe arrangements for them by staying upon trees to protect them from animals like dogs etc. This will help the peacock species to multiply. Then all students and teachers took oath by saying, “we will conserve Peacock species we will not hunt Peacocks. We will protect forest areas. We will not destroy the forest animals.” Then school Headmistress deliver “our school students and we will try our best to conserve peacocks as much as possible. If we find a peacock or any forest animals got injured or in the condition of having met any accident we ourselves will come forward and inform about this to Forest Dept. we will take efforts to protect them.” Then, Teacher delivered the vote of thanks for this programme. Following students of the school held a banner bearing the words “GLOBAL GIVING” and took oaths regarding the peacock conservation in the school ground formed precession and accomplished the programme.
