Bee farming
Until recently Green Care Association has been training remote farmers in Apiculture. This approach has been improved to training and setting up demonstration farms as was the case in Mbuluf village of Bui Division in Cameroon. Instead of discouraging the cultural cylinder Hives Green Care introduced the Top bar Hive as alternative in its demonstration farm.
This approach targets to change cultural bee farming which for the most part is difficult, less productive and environmentally unfriendly.
Theophile who happened to be part of the installation team happily declared “ I now understand clearly what you guys were talking about Top Bar Hives. Its quite easy” Bee farming is a generation old practice but what is common in Bui Division is traditional and unproductive compare to the modern techniques. Thanks to Global Giving funds which enable Green Care to construct the Top Hives, Transport and install. They are going to serve as a good source of income generation and doubles as ideal farm for the common good. GlobalGiving donations are really life changing. Thank you so much.
