Green Care Assist Remote community construct Bridge

Green Care Staff together with American Peace Corps Volunteer Katherine McNeil Offered three working days alongside some farmers to construct a bridge over River Ngweih some 30km away from Shisong village. It’s thanks to equipment (Synthetic Robes) donated by another American return Peace Corps Volunteer McRyan. The villagers had prepared the work by making available hundreds of dry Bamboo which we used for the construction. Construction work was possible thanks to the lowest level of the stream, considering that it was still transition from Dry to Wet season.

The bridge is going to save many Bee farmers, some palm wine Tappers and Sherpherds. It was with extreme joy that those who were around saw Green Care realize the bridge for them. Mr Martin Ngalim who was actively present during the construction exclaimed with joy “ I can’t believe my eyes seeing another improved bridge over this stream. I did not believe Green Care was serious when they told me about the possibility of assisting in the realization of the bridge.”

Many more farmers had surrendered the possibility of repairing the bridge due to lack of equipment and effective coordination. Upon completion Mr Devine, a young farmer from Kumbo spontaneously assisted all day long when he saw Green Care team at the construction site. He was very happy upon completion of the bridge as he said, these are projects that I like very much for my community. Thanks to Global Giving Funds part of which was used to sponsor the Donkey that helped to carry our belongings and the cost of feeding during the stay at the farm.
