By Njodzeka Gilbert Njodzeka | Rapid yam set multiplication training
On the 5th of March 2012, Green Care Association organized training on Rapid Yam Set Multiplication. It was attended by 12 local subsistence farmers, five of whom were women. Main topics treated during the training are, Kinds of Yams, importance, properties, requirements for yam production, Propagation techniques, Land preparation, Planting patterns, Maintenance, fertilization and harvesting.
After the training, two of the workshop participants ( Mrs Mary Binirla Ngong and Mr Patrick Chilla) instantly declared their readiness to put the training knowledge to practice. Some other farmers who could not attend the training like Mrs Bongfen Florence of Shisong and Mr Wirba Gilbert of Kumbo came later in the day pleading for the another training opportunity. We are all grateful to GlobalGiving funds and are ready to do more.
Thank you very much.
