As has been the case over the years Green Care Association (GCA) has continued with its field and practical work by collecting some local trees for its nursery. Most of the seeds collected have been sown in anticipation for germination and planting come May 2018, start season for tree planting. Seed collection has been a very reliable approach to sustaining Tree nurseries than buying. Most of the seeds collected are bee friendly, medicinal and economic value like the Croton and Prunus africana species. Right now GCA is working hard to advertise to institutions and individuals the species of trees availble for eventual planting during the wet seasons. One of the official visitor Mr Paschal from Tatum to GCA was quick to say aloud " I never could imagine for once the quantities and varieties of Trees in your nursery and above all the attached benefits after your introduction and explanations. I am happy, very happy for your good nursery. Thank you."
Because GCA has over the years sustained the nursery, many tree species that were near extinct or endangered are now common around to find to some degree. A source of inspiration to the community. We are therefore very grateful to GlobalGiving donors who have help to keep us moving on through their wonderful donations. GCA is proud of you.
