Phase I of the E-Library is a huge success and BCP would like to expand the library to its full potential. Students and teachers are using the Library. Two new librarians have been hired to enhance the experience for the students. Teachers are using the reference books to plan their lessons. The community is delighted with the new facility.
The second phase will enlarge the seating from 64 to 167 by adding 81 seats and tables inside the space plus 22 seats with desks on the balcony. It only costs $10,000 to complete the furishings. The increased capacity will enable more people to take advantage of this unique study space. Phase II will enhance the education experience of all in this SW District of Uganda, along with the 600 students who live on campus.
We are SO grateful for the support we have received and the grant from Loyola Foundation that made Phase I possible. This second phase, to complete the Library, is a much smaller financial goal. Our wonderful grant writer is busy looking for new sources of funds. Furnishing, more computers and books are still needed. It would be fantastic to complete the project in 2019!
