Buds N Colors camp is for adolescent children orphaned in Tamilnadu. The aim of this camp is to share love, build hope and strengthen faith to live life with dignity and courage. Adolescents orphaned find it hard to set higher goals due to the fear that dominates their emotions. Losing father or mother has affected their self -image causing a severe low self esteem. Camp aims to build confidence and emerge as peer leaders for change.
There are more than 300 adolescents living with and affected by HIV and AIDS in Namakkal district. Adolescents living with HIV and orphaned by HIV find it hard to set higher goals due to the fear that dominates their emotions. HIV has affected their self -image causing a severe low self esteem. Our experiences from the previous camps have shown, given a space for the adolescents, they emerge as leaders of hope and change for others like them.

Sessions on team building, improve self-esteem, positive communication skills and leadership skills are aimed to develop healthy self image. Interaction with other orphan adolescents affected by AIDS builds hope and courage
40 adolescent orphans will participate in this 4 days residential camp. This platform motivates each other to have a positive outlook beyond their current circumstances and the young people emerge as peer leaders for other adolescent orphans in their communities. The campers will be hopeful and confident about their life, share their victories over life challenges and be role models for other orphan children attached with Buds of Christ Adolescent Development Center.
