We are raising funds to make sure that teachers build expertise in ethics! This will help to integrate ethics in higher education on an international level. In October In Nigeria (ADD) If teachers and experts from disadvantaged contexts in the majority world can attend and share their expertise, the conference will have bigger impact and affect the lives of the students they teach. For this, your support is needed.
We need leaders, and future leaders, who put ethical considerations above all others when taking decisions. We believe that integrating ethics more deeply into higher education institutions will bring about positive changes in society. For our conference on this topic we have received many interesting papers from experts from the global south. But because they don't have the means to attend, their findings can not be shared and an opportunity for them to professionally grow is lost.
Inclusiveness for us means having all voices present to be heard and learning from those who have other perspectives than your own. If teachers, speakers and experts from disadvantaged contexts in the majority world can attend and share their expertise, the conference will have bigger impact and affect the lives of the students they teach. This will also change the institutions they teach in.
As a worldwide network that represents and empowers academia from the global south, we have the unique opportunity to bring these experts to Geneva. This would give international policymakers and leaders that are on the conference an honest review of the current status of Higher Education, which will influence global policy. The expert, in turn, will bring insights on ethics to his institution and students. This will not only empower the individual, but will improve his/her context as a whole.
