Since the horrific shooting at Borderline Bar & Grill nearly eight months ago, people locally and from around the world have rallied to provide ongoing support to victims and families.  The Conejo Valley Victims Fund is a tremendous example of this support, with well over $4 million generously donated by individuals and organizations.

The Ventura County Community Foundation has steadily disbursed funds to the survivors and to families of the 12 people we lost on November 7, 2018.  The financial stresses of losing a loved one, and the costs of being wounded physically and emotionally in an event like this, can be difficult for victims to acknowledge openly.  The Conejo Valley Victims Fund is our community’s way of helping our neighbors recover by making those financial burdens lighter.

At this time, the Ventura County Community Foundation has connected with community partners as we look ahead to November 7, 2019.  The anniversary of this tragedy is certain to reopen emotional wounds for those affected, and also to renew the desire to ensure that victims are supported.  We hope that as we approach November 7, anyone who was affected by the shooting and hasn’t yet received funds from the Conejo Valley Victims Fund, will see the support of their community and will feel encouraged to reach out.

This Fund continues to be administered by the Ventura County Community Foundation with no administrative fees, so that 100% of contributions are disbursed to those affected by the shooting.  The complete disbursement protocol is available at ConejoValleyVictimsFund.org.
