While the horror washes over all of us, many from around the region and around the country are leaping into action to support the victims, families, law enforcement community and organizations providing first and second line support. Ventura County Community Foundation (VCCF), in coordination with City of Thousand Oaks, Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, Amgen Foundation, California Community Foundation, and others, has set up a specific fund to serve this purpose.
On Nov. 7, 2018 an unspeakable tragedy occurred with the shooting deaths of 12 of our community members including a Ventura County Sheriff Sergeant. While the horror washes over all of us, many from around the region and around the country are leaping into action to support the victims, families, law enforcement community and organizations providing first and second line support.
Ventura County Community Foundation (VCCF), in coordination with City of Thousand Oaks, Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, Amgen Foundation, California Community Foundation, and others, has set up a specific fund to support the victims, families, law enforcement community and organizations providing first and second line support.
The shooting was a horrible tragedy and so many people were affected. The families of those who were killed face funeral costs; those who went to the hospital face medical costs; and others involved have their own share of trauma to deal with. This fund will help offset those costs, hopefully allowing them one reprieve--to not have to worry about their finances while handling everything else that's on their plate.
