AMAZING NUMBERS TO CELEBRATE

AMAZING NUMBERS TO CELEBRATE

65,000 students in BYU-Pathway Worldwide!

18,000 Pathway students in Africa, or 27% of all Pathway students!

350 computers distributed in The Lord’s Hands Winter Campaign!

1332 African Pathway students have been empowered by your donations to THE LORD’S HANDS that provided them with the technology needed to succeed as online students!

BYU-Pathway Worldwide’s story begins 50 years ago when Henry B. Eyring was inaugurated as the president of Ricks College (now BYU-Idaho). In his inaugural address, he said, “We must also find ways for this college to serve young people whose needs are shaped by a great variety of cultures and situations, and who may not be able to come to this campus … We will find direct ways to move the blessings of education … from this campus out into the lives of men and women everywhere.”

Nearly 30 years later in 1998, David A. Bednar made similar comments in his inaugural address as President of Ricks College. "It will be necessary for us ... to serve ever better the thousands of students we have on campus while simultaneously reaching out to bless the lives of tens of thousands of young Latter-day Saints throughout the world."

In 2009, the fulfillment of Henry B. Eyring and David A. Bednar's words came to be when BYU-Idaho launched Pathway (also called PathwayConnect). This one-year, reduced-cost, online program offered to students wherever they lived, with no need to ever come to a university campus began with 50 students in the United States.

BYU-Pathway seeks to provide education as an essential part of Heavenly Father’s loving plan — and the way out of poverty. “And the Lord called his people Zion, because they were of one heart and one mind, and dwelt in righteousness; and there was no poor among them.”- Moses 7:18

In 2019, Steve Kapila Mutumbo organized The Lord’s Hands to provide computers to BYU-Pathway students in Africa. Since 2020, 1332 computers have been awarded to students in 28 African countries.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS, WHICH HAVE MADE THIS POSSIBLE.

YOU ARE AMAZING!

When I thought it was the end for me, The Lord's Hand NGO came to my aid with a laptop and I am very thankful for this great opportunity given me to pursue my educational goals again. I am grateful for this wonderful privilege and the kind gesture by The Lord's Hand NGO for making My educational dream become a reality."

Your support has made a significant impact on the lives of many young learners. The laptops provided will greatly enhance the educational opportunities for these students, allowing them to access valuable resources and improve their digital literacy skills. This contribution is not only a step towards bridging the digital divide but also a meaningful investment in the future of these children.Your commitment to supporting education and empowering the next generation is truly inspiring. We are deeply appreciative of your kindness and generosity.
