Dear Donors,
Wish you all a very Happy New Year !
India government's decision for demonitization lead to many chaos and crisis. But it did not affect those who could manage cashless transaction.
Streamlining mobile banking and digital payments is the need of the hour. However, it is not as simple as it seems. India’s literacy levels (more than a third of population is still illiterate) and lack of low-level computer skills pose a huge challenge. A majority of population cannot be expected to make use of smart phones, online portals and e-wallets.
Our computer literacy programs are helping a lot of women to deal with these challenges. They are able to help their family members with their computer knowledge. Many of them are able to manage cashless transactions with ease. They are also able to manage their family business, fees payments for their children, online bookings etc. Here is the story of one such woman whose computer knowledge helped her husband to run his business smoothly in these days of monetary crisis.
Aarti had completed basic education but was not familiar with computer. She joined IDEA Computer training course to have some basic knowledge about computers and its applications in real life. After she completed the basic course she gained confidence in using computer and internet. When she learned about the importance of financial literacy, in the current scenario of demonetization and chaos she also joined our financial literacy course.
Our financial literacy course covers lessons on cashless transactions, ATM Debit and credit Cards, Net Banking, Precautions and Safety regarding online transactions and Net Banking as well as Budgeting, Insurance, Investments Options, Banking, Borrowings, Stock Market, Retirement Plans.
With the help of this knowledge, she is independently managing accounts of her family business. Her ability to use computers is a big help to her family now as nobody in her family could use computers for running their business.
Aarti is very much thankful to IDEA for conducting such informative courses.
Thank you dear donors for helping us to meet part of the expenses of our National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) centres in different areas of Pune. The demand for our computer courses is increasing day by day. So please continue to support us so that we can reach out to many people and make them computer literate.
