Greetings from IDEA!
Government of India has launched National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) to digitally literate the poor masses. IDEA Foundation believes in the notion and supports its commencement as to enable people to actively participate in the development process to enhance their livelihood. It facilitates 3 NDLM centers in different parts of Pune and one of them is in Kothrud. For IDEA it is a part of their skill development initiatives for underprivileged women, to enhance the employability of these women. In these centres IDEA also conducts eLearning classes for children and computer training for youth.
IDEA NDLM center regulates various batches throughout the day. The center has laptops and computers to facilitate learning. The students come from various backgrounds but as per observation, more women candidates are enrolled as students. The applicants who have registered with IDEA Foundation are satisfied and are thankful to us. Some of them comments:
“I am 25 years old and I knew absolutely nothing about computers or laptops. My main objective to become a digital literate was to teach my kids about the same. I joined IDEA center as it was an easy option and I had to pay nothing to learn. After the completion of the course, I would love to seek a job.” Says Deepali.
Another student, Jaishree comments, “ I couldn’t study after 10th standard. I feel neglected from the present world. I have enrolled in this program so that I can cope up and help my children as well. She was keen to learn and therefore chose to become a student at the age of 32. She enjoys her classes and has learnt Microsoft word, Notepad, paint, Gmail operation and Online booking so far. She wishes to get an online job.”
Jyoti who is a 10th standard student has joined IDEA so that she can learn all aspects of computes. She aspires to become a receptionist. She states that IDEA Foundation should come up with more courses to support people from low -income group.
Various Alumni’s of IDEA Foundation’s NDLM center have ensured jobs as receptionist, data analyst and computer programmers. We wish to help more people with our service with your support.
We have been managing these courses with your support. Please continue to support us so that we can reach out to more people and make them computer literate.
Thank you.
