Being an Art graduate Suvarna was always enthusiastic about learning new skills and stay updated with vibrant world. She was keen to learn computer, get connected with world with social media. The computer training imparted to her has opened new door for her dreams . She was excited to have her own Facebook and Gmail account. She also took one step forward by joining whatsApp to use smart phone actively like her friends. Talking about her transformed life she shared her surprise moment with husband. As soon as she learned about online ticket booking, she booked ticket for her husband and that proud expressions on husband’s face was greatest award for her. Now Suvarna is all set to learn an advanced computer course so that she can take up an office job since she has overcome her phobia on computer. Computer education undertaken by IDEA

Currently IDEA undertake computer education for underprivileged in three locations in and around Pune . We are one of the implementing partners of National Digital Literacy Programme , a flagship programme of India Government with an objective to ensure that at least one person in each household is digitally literate . This has become a necessity since Government is digitalizing the work in all government offices and application for various government schemes are now online for transparency.

IDEA is creating awareness in our project locations on the importance of being digitally literate and conducting 40 sessions of digital literacy programme focusing how to use smart phones, Tabs and computer for various purposes like booking cooking gas , bus / railway tickets, opening internet banking services , applying for various government schemes etc.   The course is designed in such a way that even a person with merely primary education can successfully complete the course .

An Appeal

IDEA is planning to expand Digital literacy programme to more areas . We are seeking  your support to set up computer centers in these locations .

Thanking you in advance for your support
