The first click!
The first click!

Dear Donor,

Greetings from IDEA!

Thank you! for contributing to this Computer class which is conducted especially for rural girls. It began with a batch of 10 college going girls and this first batch has completed a basic English language course and one month of basic Computer training. As word spread some High school girls approached us and this second batch has also started their computer training with us.

It is an amazing thing for these village girls to be operating the computer as they have never even touched one before. At first they were scared of it, afraid of pushing a wrong key but slowly their computer teacher has settled them and is making the basics easy for them.

The computer teacher is a young post graduate in Computer Science from a nearby village. She is not just a teacher but an inspiration for these girls- coming from a village like them with limited facilities, she has done what very few youth from her village have done- a post graduate degree in Computers!

She teaches them in a language that is comfortable for them, also brushing their English as they move forward in their course. She will cover all basic concepts of computers including MS word, excel, power point and internet browsing.

This knowledge of Computers will definitely prove to be very useful to these girls in the future for finding a good job in the field of Accounting, Sales, Office assistants or Teaching like their mentor. Seeing their enthusiasm we feel that their success is just a CLICK away!

Total 20 young college going girls and 25 school girls attend the Computer class for two days a week.
