Radhika Nilupelee was a student of Horizon Lanka since its inception. She joined MicroImage, an IT Company in Colombo after her Advanced Level. While working for MicroImage, she sat for English Teachers Entrance exam and passed it. She is the first to pass this exam from Mahavilachchiya in English. Now she undergoes at Government Training College which is known as "Teachers' College" in Kandy. In 3 years' time she will become a fully qualified English teacher and perhaps render her services to the students of Mahavilachchiya. Horizon Lanka is very happy to see her success as she is one of the brightest students of Horizon Lanka in both English and ICT subjects.

Had Horizon Lanka not been in existence in the rural village of Mahavilachchiya, most of these youth would have ended up either unemployed or underemployed. Before Horizon Lanka, the boys' only option was to join the armed forces and for girls, the only opening was working as a machine operator in a garment factory. But now Horizon Lanka shapes up the lives of youth by giving a quality ICT and English education to the children in the village and enables them to be young men and women with a marketable skills in the extremely competitive job market.

The students of Horizon Lanka and the villagers of Mahavilachchiya thanks GlobalGiving and donors who donate to Horizon Lanka through GG for their support in producing confident youth from Mahavilachchiya.

We will bring more success stories about Horizon Lanka's past students in coming days.
