Our project “Comprehensive Care of Young Expectant Mothers” works all year round. Over this last trimester 25 young pregnant mothers, between the ages of 14 to 20, received pregnancy medical care, nutritional support, provision of medicines and psychosocial guidance to protect and empower their lives and the life of their babies. They have been attending the program since their first three months of pregnancy.
The institution of Salud y Familia also offers all year training workshops, the themes are:
This last trimester we counseled 40 young mothers, they have received formation in these four mayor themes.
In the last 4 months we have been training a second group of 35 young mothers and women in learning trades and entrepreneurial tools. Each course lasts 44 hours. The themes are:
Our goal is the health of the mother and the baby, we train for the life and family improvement of these young mothers who are highly neglected and lack education.
The results of this year’s work were amazing, we see them by the evaluation of the development of these girls after their child is born.
