Prevention is better than healing as it is one of the best aspects of health care reforms. Good health is essential for all, especially for children. Regular medical checkups are important as it gives a chance to check on the development of the child as well as to prevent any health problems.
Muktashala creates a conducive environment that provides holistic development for the children.
With health as one of the focus areas, a medical camp and health awareness session was conducted for the tribal children and their families as they travel extensively in search of work neglecting their health concerns.
In this camp, 91 beneficiaries were screened (51 children, 36 parents, 4 pregnant and lactating mothers). The doctors diagnosed their health issues related to skin infections and common illnesses. They were provided with immediate treatment and medications. The growth and the developmental milestones of the children were also monitored.
The medical team interacted with the adolescent girls and sensitized them on personal and menstrual hygiene, They also sensitized the parents regarding a balanced diet, hygiene and care to be taken during this pandemic. They also advised patients with high blood pressure symptoms to continue their treatment at the nearest Public Health Centre.
The parents and their families were grateful to PRIDE India and all its well-wishers for such support and care provided to them especially for their children through the intervention programmes at Muktashala.
