The ongoing COVID 19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns measures have caused loss of livelihoods, physical hardships, lack of food and shelter and economic distress to millions of vulnerable people especially the tribal communities. With the loss of livelihood, no work leading to reverse migration, one can only foresee the challenges ahead to meet the further need arising with more mouths to be fed, as these rural poor set out to revive their livelihood and rebuild their lives.
To help the families of these tribal children to build an income, PRIDE India has supported 11 families with livelihood support from which 8 families were supported for goat rearing while 3 families were supported with fishing nets.
This support not only brought in smiles on their faces but also a huge relief as this will serve as supplementary livelihood support to their household. These families were grateful to PRIDE India and its well-wishers for supporting them in such a critical situation especially when they had no work due to the pandemic.
