Help 150 Communities Plan and Design Their Future

More than a decade of La Maraña’s participatory projects, citizen movements, and collective efforts toward justice in Puerto Rico have given shape to our participatory design, planning, community organizing, and collective action toolkit La Cartuchera.

Since our last report, La Maraña team completed the revision and expansion of La Cartuchera. The process incorporated lessons and feedback gathered through the certification cohorts, experiences learned from our other projects and collaborations. This allowed our team to strengthen the content in response to the needs identified through implementation.

The revised version now includes new and expanded material on green solutions and community mediation, adding practical knowledge that responds to current challenges faced by communities and complements the original toolkit.

The content and design revision is now complete. The next step is to bring the new version to communities through professional illustration and printing. We continue to receive messages from community members, professionals, and college students interested in participating in our program, demonstrating the ongoing demand for accessible tools and training.

We are currently seeking funding to cover these costs and make the updated toolkit available for continued training, dissemination, and use by community leaders and organizations.
