Dear Friends,

Thank you for your support throughout and helping AWARD with USD 7,154.

During the last quarter under its COVID-19 relief program , AWARD  has managed to help 103  families with a small grant of PKR 10,000 that were affected by COVID-19. AWARD selected the following beneficiairies. 

1) Those who were directly affeced by the virus

2) Those who had their family members affected by the virus.

3) Widows and Single Mothers affected by the virus or lockdown.

4) Those who got unemployed during the lockdowns.

AWARD also helped 20 small business that were affected by the COVID-19 lockdown and helped them in maintaining their businesses . These business owners had no other option , other than to sit and wait for the lockdown to be over. These small business  owners were contacted by AWARD team and looking at their businesses, each business was provided a small grant of PKR 70,000 (USD 400). The business owners were extremely happy and they thanked AWARD for the efforts it made, to reach them. 

Fiza expressed his feeling " I was doing a baking business which got very much affected by the lockdowns. AWARD came to me during this critical time. This small grant has helped me to add up new items, new machines, and to restart my business with a new motivation. I thank AWARD for this"

Qaiser expressed his feeling " I was deteted by COVID-19 and with that i had to close down my business and sit and home for a month and apart from that all my savings were consumed in the treatment. AWARD reached me during this critical time. This small grant has helped me to add up new items, reapir the broken equipment and to pay up my rent. I thank AWARD for this"

During the last quarter , AWARD  team managed to help 10 small business that were affected by the COVID-19 lockdown. These business owners had no other option , other than to sit and wait for the lockdown to be over. These small business  owners were contacted by AWARD team and looking at their businesses, each business was provided a small grant of PKR 20,000. The business owners were extremely happy and they thanked AWARD for the efforts it made, to reach them. 

Nabeel expressed his feeling " I am very thankful to AWARD for reaching us in these critical times. This small grant has helped me to add up new items in my shop and to pay up my rent. Now i can feed my family ."

As the COVID-19 4th wave is on the rise again with the arrival of the Delta Variant. The cases have again started to increase. We would like to request all our supporters to help AWARD in suporting the affected families.

AWARD Emergency team selected 150 families from 4  rural/semi urban  areas of District Muzaffargarh situated in Punjab province to distribute food packages (Cooking oil, flour, rice, pulses, chickpeas, rice, tea, sugar, spices, salt etc) sufficient for 15 days among the marginalized and needy families who are under severe economic crises and stress. The food packages were sent to the respective areas through private transportation .The packages after reaching the respective areas were sent to the distribution points. A small distribution ceremony was organized in the 4 areas. 150 families which were selected by the need assessment from the 4 rural areas received the food packages . 

AWARD’s Executive Director, Ms. Christina and other local religious and social leaders also attended the distribution ceremonies. The District Coordination Office was informed about the distribution but due to other important appointments the representatives were unable to join. The team after completing the distribution in one area, travelled to the other areas. In every area, the team was warmly welcomed by the people. They thanked AWARD and the donors for the efforts they made, to reach the needy. The families were very happy after getting the food packages. They thanked the Executive Director, Ms. Christina Peter and the team for the support.

As the COVID-19 is on the rise again with the arrival of the thrid wave. The affected cases have been paced up . We would like to request all our supporters to help AWARD in suporting the affected families.

Distribution of Food Items and Cash Grants among 1700 Needy Families

AWARD Emergency team selected 30 rural/semi urban  areas of District Faisalabad ,Toba Tek Singh and Muzaffargarh situated in Punjab province to distribute food packages (Cooking oil, flour, rice, pulses, chickpeas, rice, tea, sugar, spices, salt etc) sufficient for 15 days among the marginalized and needy families who are under severe economic crises and stress. The food packages were sent to the respective areas through private transportation .The packages after reaching the respective areas were sent to the distribution points. A small distribution ceremony was organized in the 25 areas. 1550 families which were selected by the need assessment from the 25 rural areas received the food packages . AWARD Pakistan also distributed cash grant of PKR 10,000 to 168 families to support them during the time of pandemic.

AWARD’s Executive Director, Ms. Christina and other local religious and social leaders also attended the distribution ceremonies. The District Coordination Office was informed about the distribution but due to other important appointments the representatives were unable to join.
