Summary

This project aims to combat malnutrition and poor health in underserved communities by establishing local nutrition gardens in homes and schools. By providing families and youth with seeds, tools, and training, the initiative empowers them to grow nutrient-rich vegetables and herbs using sustainable methods. Participants also receive nutrition education to improve their dietary habits and health. The project plans to set-up 100 gardens in the first year, benefiting over 800 people.

Challenge

The project addresses the problem of malnutrition and poor health in underserved communities, especially among children and vulnerable families. Many households lack access to fresh, affordable vegetables and rely heavily on starchy or processed foods, leading to nutrient deficiencies, weakened immune systems, stunted growth in children, and increased cases of preventable illnesses. Additionally, there is limited awareness and education on healthy nutrition
