Minati is a lady of 47 years from Joykrishnapur village under Nandakumarpur GP, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India. She is staying with her son as her husband died few years back. Her son does not have a permanent job and works as a migrant worker. Minati works as a domestic worker.
It was observed earlier that after the death of her husband, she neglected her general health due to poverty and therefore regular health checkups have been ignored for quite some time. Such ignorance has lead to severe illness and pressure was found to be quite low.
One of the health workers of Sabuj Sangha have identified the problem of Minati and insisted her to visit doctor in the outreach camp of Sabuj Sangha that takes place at Joykrishnapur village, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India. With regular and repeated interactions, the health worker has convinced Minati to visit doctor. These interactions have highlighted on the issue regarding low cost treatment and distribution of free medicines in the outreach camp along with the importance of regular health checkups. The health worker suggested Minati to stay in free mind as healthy mind is the core of healthy body.
Initially, Minati was not really responsive to the health workers intervention but gradually her mind set has changed and now she requests the health worker to visit her at frequent intervals.
