Sabuj Sangha’s RHTC is situated in Nandakumarpur GP, South 25 Parganas, West Bengal where underprivileged people from Patharpratima and Mathurapur II block visit for the treatment and advised accordingly by the general physicians, gynaecologists, optometrists, orthopaedics etc. Information about the OPD days, time and doctor’s availability, system of service delivery etc. are circulated by the health workers and supervisors during home visits and communication materials are also used for disseminating health messages in the communities. Patients attend RHTC for diagnosis and treatment of ailments as well as pregnant & lactating mother care. RHTC works as a wonder in peoples’ life since they get such services 24 X 7 and therefore in emergencies too. In last one year (April 2015 - March 2016), total number of 5269 patients received OPD service from RHTC.
Namita, wife of Sahadev is an inhabitant of Jagannath Chak of Nandakumarpur GP. She belongs to a very poor family as her husband is a daily labourer. She is a pregnant woman. She has been brought to RHTC by the local health worker of Sabuj Sangha to avail the advice of specialised gynaecologist at OPD. She was happy to get an opportunity to see a doctor with such higher degree against such a small registration fee. She stated, “In future also, I will visit the hospital for availing the services in a very reasonable rate and will motivate others to avail the health care services of the hospital of Sabuj Sangha.”
