The Community Health Programme of Sabuj Sangha in deep Sunderbans continued their efforts reaching out the unreached communities who struggle for basic amenity access and better living through outreach health camps & services rendered at Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC) located in remote village Nandakumarpur under Mathurapur II administrative block.
Also, the various establishments of the organisation across the remote parts in Sunderbans have remained catalyst in the extended health services.
The communities from remote Sunderbans who used to remain deprived of the basic health facilities now are attuned with the continued health services by the band of robust trained medical professional under Sabuj Sangha’s Community Health Programme including Experienced Doctors, Nurses, Pathologists, Community Health Workers etc.
In absence of access capacity, both financially and by remoteness, to the basic health facilities the people of deep Sunderbans villages are practiced to avail unscientific and unhygienic remedial methods- like going to the local quacks or to avail magical practices through exorcisers etc. With the Community Health Services of Sabuj Sangha reaching at their vicinity they are now relieved of their pains compelled to tolerate since ages.

Case Story: Sephali* (62 Years) is now relieved of her pains
The story of 62 Years old Mrs. Sephali Santra* of remote Herambagopalpur village located under Patharpratima administrative block speaks instances of the remedies through Our Reach Camps.
Mrs. Sephali Santra* 9th standard passed home maker was ailing by severe knee pain since years. Sephali to support the financial responsibilities also works as a daily wage labourer in the cultivation and household activities in the vicinity. She lives with her Husband, Son, Daughter- in – Law, one grandson and one granddaughter- a total of 6 members. They, being a Below Poverty Line (BPL) family, are struggling to sustain with strong eagerness to overcome all financial constraints.
Being tired with the continuing knee pain Sephali* was desperate to get relieved of it. Thus they availed all possible remedial support at their vicinity- Quack Practitioners, Magical Remedies etc. Thus, they spent quiet an amount of money – thus went beyond their capacity- but with no remedies at all.
On hearing about the Health Outreach Camp of Sabuj Sangha’s Community Health Programme from the neighborhood and by meeting the Community Health Worker Mrs. Sephali* started visiting the camp at regular intervals. After visiting the Doctor 3-4 times and with the medicine provided she started feeling better. Also she gets relieved of her chronic health issues- Head Ache and Acidity. She also took her Husband to help him get relieved of his chronic health issues.
Sephali* now strongly believes that the intervention through the extended health services of Sabuj Sangha’s outreach camp has helped them living more healthy and better in many ways. She feels indebted to Sabuj Sangha for their voluntary gesture that also made them responsible specifically on health issues.
