Under the Community Health Programme the outreach health camps & services rendered at Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC), Nandakumarpur and various establishments of the organisation across the remote parts in Sunderbans remained consistent in serving the unreached. Earlier the section of less fortune local populace who used to remain un-addressed thus is coming to the fore. Band of robust trained medical professional including Experienced Doctors, Nurses and Community Health Workers are consistent in remaining catalyst in this regard. Thus people in deep Sunderbans can access safe healing remedies.
The story of young lady Mrs. Reshmi* of 27 Years from remote Chintamonipur* village in deep Sunderbans is a testimony of the wide spread health services that ‘Sabuj Sangha’ struggles to retain and continue.
Reshmi* lives with her family consist of 6 members. She was suffering with issues in her Eyes and Vision which was disturbing in execution of her day- to-day activities and responsibilities. Without any accessible Govt. Health Facility and following the age long practice of visiting quacks she went on for remedies. But with no effect and persistent disturbance in her Eyes she was feeling dejected.
Gradually after identifying her family as belongs to Below Poverty Line (BPL) and on knowing about her health issues the Health Workers from ‘Sabuj Sangha’ intervened and convinced her to visit the Health Centre of ‘Sabuj Sangha’ island unit. Proper diagnosis, treatment and medication started.
Thus with proper redressal of the issues in her Eyes Reshmi is now in much better state of health.
Reshmi* –who was feeling despondent with the limitation of being resided at deep isolated village and with financial steepness now broadens her smile with deep reliance.
