The Community Health Programme of Sabuj Sangha has extended towards the most remote vulnerable parts of Sunderbans to ensure health services for the unreached and un-served. Thus, health issues of many individuals from vulnerable sections of community which earlier used to remain unaddressed now are coming to the fore and can access the safe healing remedies.
The story of Bibha* testifies the fact.
Mrs. Bibha is a 49 years old woman from remote village Tulsipur* at Sunderbans delta region in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, India. She lives with her family consists of 6 members. She was suffering from Bronchitis and diabetic issues and ailing time and again.
At visiting the local quacks several times with no remedies her health condition deteriorated.
At such point, Health Workers from ‘Sabuj Sangha’ after identifying her family as belongs to Below Poverty Line (BPL) and on knowing about her health issues intervened and convinced her to visit the Health Centre of ‘Sabuj Sangha’ island unit.
Proper diagnosis and medication started. Thus with the healing touch by Sabuj Sangha’s intervention and proper redressal of her health issues by proper medical team lead by qualified Doctors she is now in much better state of health. Poverty now is not an impediment for Bibha to remain unaddressed for her health issues.
Thus the little happiness, but not trivial, of a suffering person continue inspiring 'Sabuj Sangha' move deeper to serve the community.
