This project has raised $500 and is a huge success in our fundraising initiative. The beneficiary women are happy when they learned about this. But HopeOfiriha is not able to provide them with grinding mill as we are still a long way to reach the project budget. We still need $7000.
Local women in Omilling community still do hand grinding. To feed a family of eight people a woman (house wife) has to spend several hours hand –threshing and grinding which is a difficult task. During harvesting maize has to be threshed to remove them out from their stalks and grind to maize flour. The women use their hands do the work manually.
On June 16 2010 GlobalGiving will be matching at 50% all online donations up to 1,000 per donor per project! This campaign runs between 12:00 am and 11:59 pm EST (GMT-4).
In addition to the 50% match, GlobalGiving will be offering a $1,000 bonus to the project that raises the most funds that day and a $1,000 bonus to the project that receives donations from most individual donors! We are encouraging you to make a donation on June 16 to take an opportunity of these matching funds in order to help the women of Sudan to get the grinding mill – and finally get them out of extreme poverty.
Thanks for ongoing support,
