Teenage pregnancies and school dropouts among girls in Kenya are alarming. The covid pandemic which kept children out of school has further aggravated the situation. Family health programs and service delivery gave also been downscaled due to low funding resulting from donor fatigue and global financial shocks. The need to build local solutions to support girls avoid being nabbed in this racket of early sex by enhancing critical life skills is therefore paramount.
With funds from the GlobalGiving platform and other local sources, AID Kenya carried out awareness-raising campaigns in a bid to help curb the alarming rate of teenage pregnancies and girls dropping out of school during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We would like to thank all those who contributed their hard-earned cash towards this project. Together, we're inspiring positive change and development in the lives of our girls.
