Project Report | Sep 9, 2014
Thanks to you!

By Joseph Raju | Secretary

Your willingness to help children in our community will make a difference in their lives.

Many children grow up with their parents working in neighbourhood towns. This involuntary migration is sought in most of the rural areas with the aim to escape from unemployment, social discrimination and disaster. These ‘home alone’ children are left without attention, become early drop outs from school, more likely to be depressed and often suffer from health problems.  As they are neglected by their parents, they lack proper food, education, and care, sexual abuse, etc.

Our main aim is to provide such children a secured future and help them with their denied rights – food, safety & education. The programme has been shown to raise children’s achievement in a significant and sustained manner and to improve relationships between children and parents.  Towards this end, monetary support will be extended to the children till they reach their high school, who in turn will utilize the amount for nutritional, educational, medical & toiletry expenses.

This report summarizes the activities reached out during the quarter. Our residential home had catered to 33 children's needs during the previous year. From this list of 33, we had narrowed down the criteria to the most deserving children who are in need of our immediate support. In line to this, the first move in the programme was confirmation of beneficiary list. The identified target was called for a general orientation on the programme and its activities. The orientation programme held counseling and vocational guidance for the children to be closer to their family, have a warm feeling, and create a friendlier environment. Parents were educated on various Govt. schemes that are available in health, education, employment and social security.

Children were insisted on opening joint bank accounts to help them receive uninterrupted financial support. This support will help them continue their schooling without any difficulties and place them on a much comfortable mind set.

Again, thank you for all you do for our kids. You are a part of their lives too.
