We extend our sincere thanks to all our donors for their recent donations to Society for Poor People Development (SPPD), Trichy. Your interest in helping out our children will now place them in a better position to face the future ahead.
Thanks to your donations, our programme is going very well and our students are making good progress. The kitchen garden maintained by them has yielded good harvest. During this quarter, the Children’s home Caretaker had to spend extra time in coaching the children with their annual exam preparations to be held in April 2014. They have successfully completed their exams and are now on their vacation leave. We expect all of them to move on to their next grade level. However, three of our students who had appeared for the Government Board examinations have secured good marks. They were provided with special training in vocational skill training.
In continuation to the visit of Mr. Peter Lahiff from Language in Group, Ireland in Jan. 2014 who was present at our Community Centre for a month to assess the work on the development of the English programme reached out to our home students for the past five years we had received the following assessment report from him. The assessment report narrates that “This communicative English Programme was a successful implementation carried out for the children at SPPD Children’s Home. Children should first realize the varied difference in the language when it comes to the point of subject learning and communication. The student’s contribution towards this concept has created much improvement in their communication skills and school performance”.
A special word of thanks to Mr.Senthilnathan Natarajan, Rajkumar A, Sridhar Janakiraman, Janakiraman Manoharan, Uma Maheshwari, Senthilkumar Ganeshan, Arul Prakash Mani, Dhivahar Murugaesan, Guruprakash Gurusamy, Neil Murphy, Arpit.Katariya, Rajkumar Karuppiah Rajan (donors of this quarter) who have contributed generously towards this good cause.
With your help, the best is yet to come!
