About SPPD

SPPD is a NGO, working for the last 19 years, for the quality life of children and women. Our initiatives are focused towards restoring the denied amenities of the disadvantaged. Through the ongoing support of generous donors, we nurture children who are orphaned, abandoned in the warmth of a family, children who are poor and belong to elderly/ailing parents, affected by HIV-AIDS, etc. Our home ensures them with free nutritious food, education, medical services and tuition, support for higher education especially girls, improve their employability skills and enable children affected by HIV to live with hope.

Since inception, SPPD has nurtured around 244 children and made education, health, food & shelter accessible to them.  Presently there are 30 children at our home. Our children receive their education from the Government Schools in our locality.

Activities during the quarter

After a week’s vacation our children were back to our home in January. On their return, their height & weight was checked. Their hard work during the half-yearly exams had brought them good results.Children with health problems were treated and taken care of by the Home Care taker. Proper maintenance of the kitchen garden yielded good harvest.

We were happy to host Mr. Peter Lahiff from Language in Group, Ireland to work on the development of the English programme at our home which has its initiation since 2009. During his stay he also provided coaching classes to our children after their school hours.

This quarter R.Priyadarshini and R.Saravanan were awarded the golden star awards for their best performances during the period of time. Pongal festival was celebrated by them. They had lots of fun and excitement and expressed their thankful feelings to the donors who helped them with the celebration.

We hope and expect donors to contribute generously towards this remarkable project and help our children deserve their rightful privilege.

A special word of thanks to Mr.Santhosh Babu, Prasanna Jayaraman, Amrainder Singh, Alison Marsh, Jaisankar Nagari (donors of this quarter) who have contributed generously towards this good cause.

With your help, the best is yet to come!

With warm regards.
