Community Actions Against Ebola in DRC will protect vulnerable school children and teachers in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo through Ebola prevention, hygiene promotion, community awareness, and school health interventions. The project will provide handwashing facilities, sanitation materials, health education sessions, and early prevention training in 30 schools benefiting more than 15,000 students, teachers, and community members in high-risk areas affected by recurrent Ebola outbreaks.
Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo faces recurrent Ebola outbreaks that threaten children, schools, and vulnerable communities. Many schools lack clean water, sanitation facilities, and health awareness programs, increasing the risk of disease transmission. This project will support 30 schools through hygiene promotion, handwashing stations, Ebola awareness campaigns, and community training to protect over 15,000 students, teachers, and families in high-risk areas.
This project will strengthen Ebola prevention in 30 schools in Eastern DRC through handwashing stations, hygiene kits, sanitation supplies, and health education. Teachers, students, and community volunteers will receive training on Ebola prevention and infection control. The project will also organize awareness campaigns and school health clubs to reduce misinformation, improve hygiene practices, and protect over 15,000 children and families in high-risk communities.
The project will improve long-term resilience against Ebola and other infectious diseases in Eastern DRC by equipping over 15,000 students, teachers, and families with prevention and hygiene skills. Safer schools, improved sanitation facilities, and stronger community awareness will reduce health risks and school disruptions. The project will also empower local teachers and youth leaders to continue promoting public health and preparedness beyond the project period.
